Picha and Jason got married on a very June-in-Portland day as the weather ran the gamut from bright sunshine to overcast to pouring rain! The Rose Parade was the same day which made getting a cab to the church from the hotel very difficult for Picha - she was so relieved when she arrived and I could see her nervousness melt away during their first look. Oh, and can we talk about how incredible her dress is?!

I adore weddings at Oaks Pioneer Church - the space is so intimate and beautiful and the ceremony was absolutely lovely. We wrapped up portraits just in time for the rain to start and headed over to Gino’s Restaurant for their reception - amazing food and wine, what a perfect way to celebrate with their family and friends! xx

well, it’s been about 6 months of weddings and other sessions since i’ve managed to blog anything - but i’m finally able to share what i’ve been up to here! first up is Lance and Lauren’s romantic wedding in Abigail’s Garden at the Abernethy Center.

It was a gorgeous May evening wedding, so lush and green! Lauren and her mom put together the most lovely decor - deep blue chevron table runners with gold accents and candles beautifully set off the shades of pink in the florals by Arranged For You.

Lance and Lauren’s love story has been a journey with ups and downs and they’ve made it through together, and built a strong family with their sweet son Grayson. Many of their friends and family gave emotional and heartfelt toasts that truly expressed just how loved and supported these two are. It’s been so fun reliving Lauren and Lance’s wedding day to make this post. Wishing them so much happiness!!!

james + janessa // married | urban studio {portland wedding photography}

when your friend finds the love of his life, and she's completely amazing in every way... being a part of this wedding was SO special for me. James and Janessa are such thoughtful friends and complement each other so beautifully.

photography-wise, i was pretty much in heaven with this stunning bride and groom; two spectacular dresses; bridal party in classy all-black; everyone getting ready in a light-filled condo with a great view; all that winter light, ahh i could have wandered around downtown Portland all day with them! Urban Studio felt cozy and intimate - filled with candles, hanging lights, beautiful florals, and geometric details highlighted with gold and glittery table numbers. Janessa's father and her grandfather made the most awesome arch for the ceremony, and it made a stunning focal point for the dessert table during the reception. it was a magical night!

i am indescribably happy for these two and cannot wait to see how their life together unfolds!!

dominique + alicia // married | lumos wine co {oregon wedding photography}

i've known Dominique and his family for a long time now but didn't get a chance to meet Alicia until i arrived in los angeles to shoot their engagement session - though it turns out we went to the same synagogue as kids in Corvallis, it is the smallest world - and i adored her right away!! they are such a beautiful couple and so much fun to hang out with and i just knew their wedding would be all kinds of amazing. Dom's family's gorgeous vineyard, Lumos Wine Company, was the most perfect setting. stunning florals, ice pops for the ceremony, tearful and heartfelt vows, a camper van photo booth, and of course, unbelievable food - Dominique is an *awesome* chef (if you are in LA, go visit him at L&E Oyster Bar) and i would have expected nothing less! also also check out the exquisite confection of a cake that Leslie (the groom's mom) made, complete with sugared flowers.

"heartbeats" played when Ali walked down the aisle... it happens to be one of my favorite songs, and it really speaks for the day better than i can. 

meli + ryan // married | noti {oregon wedding photography}

Meli and Ryan's wedding was so special! They were married under the very same cedar tree that Meli's parents said their vows beneath 34 years ago. It was colorful, cozy, and intimate. I loved the sweet details that Meli put together! The joy was absolutely palpable. I'm so happy for these two. 

carly + mischa // married | cooper spur mountain resort {oregon wedding photography}

Carly and Mischa's wedding was like a burst of sunshine in every way. The bright primary colors of the bridal party, details and florals added such exuberance to the gorgeous rustic wooden scenery of Cooper Spur. Everywhere I looked, sun, trees, lavender, and the majesty of Mt Hood, and the beaming faces of everyone present. A kazoo rendition of "Lean on Me", a fun "how well do you know them" game, and oh my gosh the toasts. I'll never forget the beautiful, heartfelt, and hilarious stories that were told and I'm sure no one else will either. 

what a celebration. i'm so thankful i got to be there to document this wonderful day, and so very happy for Mischa and Carly and their loved ones!!
