Featured: Alicia & Michael {Portland Bride & Groom}

A few of my details from Alicia & Michael's gorgeous wedding are included in the Summer/Fall 2012 issue of Portland Bride & Groom magazine - check out the online feature here, or pick up the magazine at many locations in Portland! I assisted this wedding for Jay Eads. He was so generous to include me in the feature, many photographers would not do that and I'm so grateful!

Torii & Drew {Portland Wedding Photography}

I was delighted to 2nd shoot for my friend Kaitlin of Love Lit Photography (see her post of the day here) for Torii & Drew's beautiful wedding at the Aerie at Eagle Landing. It was a dream to shoot - wonderful people, an adorable couple, and the sunshine! We were lucky to get that in March! What a great way to start the 2012 wedding season. Congratulations, Torii & Drew!

Megan & Nathan {Philomath Wedding Photography}

Megan and Nathan's wedding (my first in winter!) was held at the Philomath Scout Lodge in Philomath, Oregon. Christmas carols, snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, twinkling lights and poinsetta centerpieces - everything was lovely! Megan and Nathan met through friends and were together for over 5 years before they got engaged. That solidity and comfort with each other really showed throughout the entire day. The two of them, and their friends and family, were incredibly sweet and welcoming. They were also very good sports about the cold during portraits - and the wintry fog was so beautiful. It was a wonderful day and I was happy to be a part of it! To the new Mr. & Mrs. Hickman, I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!

Isn't Nathan's car awesome??! He restored it himself. I got to ride in it around the parking lot, pretty cool. ;)

Alicia & Michael {Portland Wedding Photography}

This was such a wonderfully beautiful, meaningful, and hilarious wedding! They got ready at a gorgeous hotel (The Nines), married at a gorgeous church (Trinity Episcopal Cathedral), and celebrated with a gorgeous rooftop party (Ecotrust Building). Alicia, Michael, and their friends and family are fantastic people and had me cracking up the entire day. I was so happy to second shoot for Jay Eads, check out his post from the day here.

Thieving Voodoo Doughnuts :)

Michael & Elise {Portland Engagement Photography}

Michael and I go way back - we were great friends the last couple years of high school. Then he was in Utah, and we lost touch for a bit, but still saw each other every so often. And I was SO excited when he called me to tell me he was getting married and even more excited to hear that he wanted me to shoot the wedding! I got to meet his fianceé, Elise, when we met for coffee to discuss their wedding, and of course she is amazing. And they are a ridiculously cute couple, as you will see. Can't wait for their wedding in July!

Anna & Ivalle {Portland Wedding Photography}

Anna & Ivalle's wedding was such a fun day - and so beautifully designed! The details, many of them created by Anna herself, were just to die for! Everyone got ready at The Nines Hotel (a photographer's dream hotel). The ceremony and reception were held at Sah-Hah-Lee Golf Course. It was a beautiful afternoon and the band that played during the ceremony, Seabell, was probably my favorite of any wedding I've photographed. I was lucky enough to second shoot for Yasmin Khajavi (check out her images from the day here). Thanks for having me, Yasmin!

Megan & Tony {Portland Engagement Photography}

Megan and Tony are high school sweethearts and good friends of mine from college. Megan is also a frequent model of mine and it was so fun to photograph her with Tony - they are so good looking, and one of those couples that you can just tell belong together. We spent an evening in their neighborhood (NW Portland) for their engagement portraits. I am unbelievably excited for their wedding next April!

Pam & David {Oregon Wedding Photography}

Pam and David were married at their home in Silverton, Oregon. Their ceremony was non-traditional in many ways, as this is the second marriage for each of them. Instead of the usual bridesmaids and groomsmen, their grown children stood with them at the altar. It was so beautiful to see them surrounded by love from their joined families.

Their house is just gorgeous, and is surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery - as well as a vineyard on the property (sadly there wasn't time to go there for portraits, but we found fun spots anyway!).

Pam looked so beautiful!

David has owned the property since the 1970's, and there are all sorts of cool antique objects around the barn that they used for the reception.

As favors, Pam & David gave their guests jars of homemade jam, with the most adorable labels and decorated lids.

All of their family was so funny and easygoing - I had a great time with their portraits!

It was such a lovely ceremony!

The rain held off until exactly the end of the ceremony - that's Pam's daughter Carolyn trying to shield her mother's head from the raindrops - but it wouldn't be a true Oregon wedding without a bit of rain. :)

The guests hurried to the barn for the reception. The barn was decorated beautifully with twinkling lights, flowers, and family photographs.

Congratulations, Pam & David!
