kittie + brian // vow renewal | horning's hideout {portland wedding photography}

so many things to love about this day - the sweetest vow renewal with a laidback backyard party vibe. a day about family and good friends, a day about commitment. Kittie's first look with her dad, then her son, and then Brian... kids playing, guests laughing, ridiculously good food, tearful speeches, wedding donuts from Voodoo (and birthday candles!) - everything a celebration should be. it was truly a beautiful night! so many congratulations to Kittie & Brian and their family!

many thanks to my wonderful second shooter, Sarah Valentine! some of her images are mixed in below.

erin + matt // married {portland wedding photography}

west linn, oregon

a wedding is about love, above all. this is said often, but can never be said enough! family, friends, venue, decor, food, cake, music, dancing, speeches, the dresses, the suits, the jewelry - these things are icing. this one was no exception, it had the whole package! all on a beautiful sunny August afternoon, and with a super cute doggie ringbearer! but for me the highlight of this day was the first look - after spending the morning preparing for this moment, as soon as Erin saw Matt, she relaxed so completely. this is what it is all about - the two of you. your love, and the promise you make to each other to never forget that. take a deep breath, and soak it all in.

matt + megan // engaged {sauvie island engagement photography}

what a gorgeous evening this was! Matt & Megan are lots of fun and chose the most beautiful locations for their photos. I am so happy to *finally* share their engagement session - this blog has been sadly neglected as usual! wrapping up the last few engagement sessions before wedding season begins. lots more to share soon, as always.

joe + jessica // married | scholls valley lodge {portland wedding photography}

Joe and Jessica are such a great couple. they are big-hearted, adorable and so in love. it's been a pleasure getting to know them this year (check out their engagement session here). their wedding was so much fun!

it was pouring rain right before i arrived but we were so lucky to have perfect weather for the rest of the night. this day was full of gorgeous DIY details - like the chalkboard signs, tree slices for ceremony and centerpieces, and the arbor they were married underneath. the s'mores favors were a perfect way to take a break from dancing and enjoy the beautiful views!

huge congratulations to Jessica and Joe and their families. i am so happy to be have been a part of your wedding!

katy + robby // married | wellspring spa at mt rainier

Wellspring Spa is utterly breathtaking. Beautiful trails with unique little cabins - I definitely want to come back here to vacation (or to shoot)! There are so many wonderful places to explore and that makes it this photographer's dream. The space suited Katy & Robby so well, it was a perfect place for them to be married.

Since Katy and Robby live in Seattle, I met them for the first time at their engagement session (check it out here). They are so warm and easygoing, I knew their wedding was going to be a lot of fun. I was also able to spend some time talking to family and friends at the rehearsal dinner the night before, and it was so nice to get to know the people in their lives. Everyone made me feel inexpressibly welcome and valued!

Many of the guests spent the weekend at the spa, and pitched in to set up the lovely details. Vintage handkerchiefs and childhood photos lined the path to the peaceful sanctuary where Katy and Robby said their heartfelt vows. The ceremony was officiated by a good friend of the couple - and it was one of the most moving ceremonies I have ever documented. The handkerchiefs were definitely put to good use. More dear friends created the delicious wedding feast and cakes. The reception reminded me of an intimate dinner gathering - everyone talking and eating and laughing together. There was wine, there was dancing! I left feeling so grateful to have been a part of the weekend. The photos will say it better than I can in words.
