Sarah & Guy {Oregon Wedding Photography}
I was lucky enough to play 2nd shooter for Jay Eads for two weddings in one weekend in August. Sarah and Guy's wedding was one of them. The ceremony and reception were held at Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, which is a gorgeous venue. It was really nice to meet Sarah and Guy and their families and friends. And I must say, their dance party was one of the most exuberant I've ever seen. Fun!
Oh, and Jay is awesome to work with.
Here are some of my favorite images from the day.
Sarah has flawless porcelain skin. Love these ones of her before she's all dressed up.
Katie & Ryan {Oregon Wedding Photography}
I was the second for Jay Eads at Katie and Ryan's wedding, held at the Country Inn. It was a truly beautiful day, albeit scorching hot. I felt really honored to witness the very obvious love and devotion these two have for each other. Thanks for letting me tag along, Jay! :) Here are some of my favorite images from the day.
Katie was so elegant. 100 degree weather? She might as well have been in her own air-conditioned bubble for how perfect she looked.
[Sigh]
"there are [still] bigger problems" {Corvallis}
This graffiti has made an appearance on a couple of my senior sessions for the studio, in downtown Corvallis. Sometimes I just need to say it over and over. I've got questions like:
How do I get by in this world, and try to be kind to others and to myself? How can I grow as an artist and navigate this jungle that is the photography business? How can I be realistic as I continue my artistic education through practice and learning from others who are more knowledgeable? Will I EVER be good, instead of passable?!
But there are bigger problems. And I need to keep saying that. Because all of this? It's just the beginning. And I don't have to be perfect now or ever. But I do need to remember that complaining and wishing won't get me anywhere. Only continuing to work, and learn, and grow, will.
So whoever made this, thanks. Because I know I'm not the only one to have seen it, but I certainly did benefit from it.
Summerlin kidlets {Oregon Children & Family Photography}
I have babysat for these kids off and on for about 8 years now - since the youngest was still in diapers! It's been so fun to watch them grow. I've taken a few photographs of them over the years, but this was our first scheduled photo shoot. Their mamas wanted some pictures of the kids together, and their exuberant and sweet natures just shine through the portraits.

K. {Oregon Portrait Photography}
this shoot is from may - i haven't had much inclination for personal photography outside of work because we're in the middle of senior season and i have been doing quite a bit of that during the day hours for the studio. it's hard to get excited about sitting in front of the computer at night too! but i'm feeling more motivated lately to do personal projects, so i thought i would share.
We went to this graveyard in Monmouth, and even though it turned out to be rather manicured and less spooky than I hoped, Kate is beautiful enough to make things interesting anyway. That hair! Gets me every time.
