You may remember Michael and Elise from this engagement session. I was crazy excited for their wedding earlier this month at the Jenkins Estate, and it was just as beautiful and fun as I knew it would be. I loved the unique things about their day that made it so them - from Elise's lovely wedding dress and her exquisite branch-like stackable rings, to the gorgeous centerpieces that Elise's mom created. Enjoy!
yesterday i picked about 2 pounds of cherries. today i made a crust from scratch. and then i made a pie (using this recipe). regardless of what our weather would like us to believe, summer (and all the glorious fresh fruit you can eat) is here!

these kids have made my first year in portland so wonderful! just wanted to share some of my favorite images from this year.
I was delighted to 2nd shoot for my friend Kaitlin of Love Lit Photography (see her post of the day here) for Torii & Drew's beautiful wedding at the Aerie at Eagle Landing. It was a dream to shoot - wonderful people, an adorable couple, and the sunshine! We were lucky to get that in March! What a great way to start the 2012 wedding season. Congratulations, Torii & Drew!
harriette is my best friend's younger sister, so i've known her for many years. not to be totally cheesy but she has grown up to be so beautiful and talented! she has always been quite the fashonista, and she's now studying at the art institute of portland. i photographed her senior portraits a few years ago, and was excited to get to shoot with her again for fun. we got together for a last-minute test shoot before it started pouring rain - can't wait to work with you again soon, harriette!
on this wintry day, alyssa & i spent an afternoon shooting all around nw portland, stopped for a drink, shot some more, and called it a day when the light started to fade. we lost her lucky rabbit's foot, and found it again (phew!). the camera loves alyssa - this test shoot is hopefully the first of many collaborations! we already have another one in mind... but you'll have to wait and see.
i have always loved the outside of this store - believe antiques. sometime i will have to actually go inside.
my friend katy and i took advantage of the magnificent sunshine last weekend and drove up to the gorge with two awesome couples. the day was relaxed and fun and silly and beautiful, the perfect saturday adventure - especially in the midst of our rainy winter. check out katy's images from the day here, and mine below. i love how two photographers can go to the same places, with the same models, and come out with images that are completely different from each other. thanks for sharing this day with me, katy!! :)
