“being rock, being gas, being mist, being Mind, being the particles traveling among the galaxies at the speed of light, you have come here, my beloved. and your blue eyes shine, so beautiful, so deep. you have taken the path traced for you from the non-beginning and the never-ending. you say that on your way here you have gone through many millions of births and deaths. innumerable times you have been transformed into firestorms in outer space. you have used your own body to measure the age of the mountains and rivers. you have manifested yourself as trees, grass, butterflies, single-celled beings, and as chrysanthemums. but the eyes with which you look at me this morning tell me that you have never died. your smile invites me into the game whose beginning no one knows, the game of hide-and-seek.” - Thich Nhat Hanh

“beauty and grace are performed whether or not we will or sense them. the least we can do is try to be there.” - annie dillard

what a joy to photograph Zach and Shaina for their engagement + wedding, and, most recently, as they were awaiting the arrival of their first baby - and then to meet her a few months later!

it is never lost on me what an honor it is to glimpse a little twinkling of the precious lives of the humans i have the privilege to work with, to observe the beauty and depth in these moments and reflect them back.

kent + lizzy // indian beach elopement

like most couples getting married in 2020, Kent and Lizzy had to make several changes in their wedding plans, and they rolled with the changes with grace and positivity. they were married on a beautiful fall day at Indian Beach in Ecola State Park, supported by loved ones and a few doggy friends as well.

i love the way the light changed during the afternoon - from cloudy to brilliant sun, shifting to golden hour and the dreamy colors of the sunset. it was such a pleasure to be part of their wedding!

jason + mckensie // married | rebers riverside {oregon wedding photography}

Tomorrow is my first wedding of 2019 (yay!) and with that, I’m gonna share another of my favorite 2018 weddings!

Jason and McKensie’s wedding was truly magical! I’ve known Jace for quite awhile and have absolutely loved getting to know McKensie a little better in the last couple years - she has the best smile and most infectious laugh, and to see the way they look at each other makes me so happy!!

Jace’s brother performed their beautiful ceremony and the reception began with a mariachi band entrance, followed by an amazing barbecue dinner, dancing, and s’mores by the campfire!

Rebers Riverside is an awesome venue and made it possible for family and friends to camp overnight and keep the party going - it was SO much fun to celebrate with everyone.

Happy Friday! xo

rachel + michael // married | mt pisgah arboretum {oregon wedding photography}

Rachel and Michael were married in the beautiful fairyland of Mt Pisgah Arboretum - one of my very favorite places. Needless to say the entire day was super dreamy… such a romantic, joyful, heartfelt wedding. And what a lively dance party! It was so fun to hear the revelry through the trees when we snuck away for a few more portraits after cake cutting and first dances. A definite highlight was Boka Marimba’s set at the end of the night - Michael and friends joined the band for a few songs and it was amazing!! xo
