Jared & Joanne {Oregon Wedding Photography}

Joanne and Jared were married at the Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom in Oregon City in May, surrounded by their wonderful families and friends. I can't say enough nice things about this wedding - everyone was so nice and the ceremony was so meaningful. Joanne and Jared are also ridiculously good-looking, as you will see. :) Thanks to Jay Eads for having me along! We began at Weatherford's Grand Lodge for portraits of the bridal party.

I just love the giddy smiles in the next one.

everyone wants a cake-cutting picture :)

Congratulations to Jared, Joanne, and their families!

Maggie {Oregon Headshot Photography}

I have been on a sort of blogging hiatus this month - what with getting settled in Portland and trying to get my portfolio site up and running, I've let it fall by the wayside! But I'm excited to share some of the work I've done lately, starting with this headshot session. Maggie and I met in NW Portland to shoot her new headshots. Huge congratulations to her for getting signed to a new modeling agency! I had a wonderful time photographing her - she's so athletic, not to mention drop dead gorgeous. Enjoy!

ashley :: sneak peek {oregon headshot photography}

coming to the end of my first week in portland and i'm loving it. love the new apartment, love this city, but most of all i love how refreshed this move has made me. even throughout the mini-freak out moments during the move, i have felt this constant gratitude for having been able to (finally) get here, and the little flashes of awesomeness that keep telling me this was the right decision, that i'm where i'm supposed to be. so here's to new beginnings!

and, of course, a sneak peek of a session from one of my last days in corvallis. ashley and i caught a quick shoot before we got rained out - she's got a flair for outrageous style and was a natural in front of the camera.

Sara's Bridal Shower {Oregon Wedding Photography}

I had so much fun at Sara's elegant "Alice in Wonderland" bridal tea, hosted by her sister (and my friend) Brie. From the wonderful hats to the beautiful menu cards to the unique mis-matched teacups, this shower was so lovely! Not to mention the delicious treats - scones & crème fraiche, chicken salad on mini croissants, goat cheese crostini... mmm.

I loved the teapot labels!

Fun hats!

The beautiful bride-to-be, Sara!

These teacups were heirloom gifts from women in Sara's family. Each is delicate bone china and has a history all its own.

Have a good week!

begin again + sneak peek {oregon editorial photography}

i moved to corvallis when i was 9. i've lived here continuously since i was 15. so i've got over 10 years of history here. my family had planned to make this their settle-down home, but they've all been trickling north the past few years to bellingham and seattle. i'm not going as far north, but i am moving to portland may 1.

may 1??! seems ridiculously soon with all i've got to do.

i'm sad to leave corvallis, and all of the people/places i've met along the way. but it's been so long since i've had such a fresh-start move and i'm really excited to see what comes my way.

and it seems fitting that i should take a mini-vacation before such a big change, to recharge and get ready for the chaos - so i'm off to doe bay with my family to enjoy the hot springs and spend some quality time with them. see you all next week and in the meantime, here's a little preview of a shoot i did this last weekend with a fabulous model, marie.

carley {oregon editorial photography}

i had 2 rolls of film from this shoot. i was so excited about them... and BOTH rolls were blank. this has only happened to me once before and that was because the film was loaded backwards (oops, haha). and i know that didn't happen this time. ah, c'est la vie. anyway. here are a few more of carley because she's gorgeous. and wish me better luck next time on my film endeavors.
