lucky as always to have been able to shoot alongside Jay Eads for this super-gorgeous wedding last August. check out Jay's post here!
Melissa and Sean make a wonderful couple and I was really moved by how loved they are by everyone in their lives. Melissa's maids of honor gave one of my favorite toasts ever, and that dance party was crrrrrazy (in the best way possible, of course). I had a lot of favorite images, so please bear with me on the long post, and have a wonderful weekend!
I just have to say, there is something special about fall in Portland. Sure, it's chilly, but the light is so beautiful! To start off Amber & Jason's engagement session, I met up with them at one of their favorite coffee places. I took a few frames from their apartment balcony as well before we went down to the Broadway Bridge and wandered around a bit in the Pearl. I had such a good time photographing these two - they are such a sweet couple and I can't wait for their wedding in Hood River next summer! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
one of those weddings where i couldn't stop smiling - Beau & Beth's day was so utterly joyful and full of personality! these two are such sweet souls, and so in love.
the wedding party got ready on separate floors in the Administrator's House at Edgefield, and the ceremony was held in the courtyard of the house. each aspect of the ceremony was so thoughtful. Beau and his father together made the arbor that Beau & Beth were wed underneath, and the fall leaves provided a beautiful backdrop. guests snacked on popcorn and cider as they arrived. Beth's father performed a smudging ceremony (burning sage to drive out bad energy) after he walked Beth down the aisle. Beau & Beth exchanged Dr. Seuss-style vows.
after the ceremony we took advantage of the rain-free day for some portraits, and towards the end the sun came out for some lovely golden light!
the reception was held in the upstairs of the Power Station and included a surprise song that Beth had written for Beau and played on the banjo, many heartfelt toasts, and a raucous dance party! so much fun!
enjoy the photos and have a happy halloween!
I can't say enough nice things about Carolyn and Kyle. (You may remember them from their engagement session earlier this year!) These two are warm and friendly, and the love from their family and friends was really tangible throughout the entire day - their wedding was a joy to photograph! The Leftbank Annex was a fantastic urban backdrop for all the rainbow-hued details, including a gorgeous painting created by one of the groomsmen that provided the focal point for the ceremony.
I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus but I am happy to be catching up at last! Stay tuned for more beautiful weddings and portrait sessions, and maybe even a few personal posts as well.
These two were so much fun to photograph - they are goofy and sweet and love to make fun of each other (in the nicest way possible, of course). Chris & Jayme, I wish you the best of luck with everything!
it was so fun to 2nd shoot for Lauren Hurt at Erin & John's wedding in January. held at the Nines, this stunningly beautiful event was exquisitely planned by Blush Bridal. it was such a pleasure getting to know Erin & John and their friends and family, especially John's hilarious groomsmen, i was seriously laughing the whole day. here are my favorite images from the day - enjoy! check out Lauren's post here. happy weekend!
the second of two rainy-day weddings from last winter, this one at Deep Woods in Elmira, 2nd-shot once again for the excellent Jay Eads. these two make an unbelievably cute couple. katie was such a trooper being willing to borrow my rain boots and squelch around for portraits. ethan and katie really wanted to infuse their wedding with a sense of homey comfort - right down to a delicious soup and salad dinner, plus a hot chocolate bar. such a wonderful idea, and the whole day really did feel very warm and homelike!
